Can i delete dfsrprivate

I ended the replication and then completely removed that namespace and replicaton group For the Kdrive folder only and did a restore of that folder which was a chore. Our other 2 replication folders are working fine still. SO-- now onto the question. I want to resetup the namespace and replication group for the Kdrive folder, but before I do I want to be sure it is cleaned up.

We still have a DfsrPrivate folder showing in the KDrive folder on our good server, can I delete it and how should I do that? I plan to do a robocopy preseeding but have too long of paths on some files over characters I assume those should all be fixed prior to doing the robocopy? Do long file paths cause issues with DFSR?

I know I can't troubleshoot this now but any ideas why we had issues in the first place? Thanks in advance. Popular Topics in Windows Server. Spiceworks Help Desk. The help desk software for IT. Track users' IT needs, easily, and with only the features you need.

Hi Can you stop all DFS services and ensure no replication is occuring and then see if you can take ownership of the folder?
