Eragon who is tenga

In an interview, author Christopher Paolini stated that "Tenga was searching for something much more important than whether the rocks in the Beor Mountains are affected by the stages of the moon.

Angela also hinted that Tenga knew a way to control time and that he taught the method to her but she didn't tell Eragon how to use the trick.

What evidence do we have of Tenga's identity, history, or motivations? In other words, who is Tenga? We don't know much other than what's in the books - what we do know from interviews etc.

Tenga the Hermit … Who is he and what does he seek? If that's not canonical enough for you, we have an assortment of interview quotes from Paolini himself. From this interview :. CP: Tenga was searching for something much more important than whether the rocks in the Beor Mountains are affected by the stages of the moon.

Rest assured, though, I will return to it. And finally from this one about the planned Book Are there any non plot-important tidbits you can share about Tenga son of Ingvar, such as his favorite color or something? Tenga is a disciple of light and all things pertaining to radiance. But do not make the mistake of confusing the disciple with the thing itself when he is -- in actuality -- the inverse rather than a mirror.

Facebook AMA. Tenga was searching for something much more important than whether the rocks in the Beor Mountains are affected by the stages of the moon. Why does [Eragon] run away from Tenga?

Eragon ran away from Tenga because. When Eragon and Saphira leave the vault of souls, the eldunari shrink their existence into a teeny spec. They say the trick was developed by a hermit a few hundred years ago. Was this the weird dude living in a shack trying to figure something out about the moon? Whether the phases of the moon influence the number and quality of the opals that form in the roots of the Beor Mountains, as is commonly held among the dwarves. Angela shrugged. He may be deranged, but his brilliance is none the less for it.

Nasuada had sent four spellcasters to visit Tenga to inform him of her new laws regarding magic. He killed the visitors and escaped, likely going into hiding. The situation bears close attention. Shadows covered his downturned face. His gray beard was so long, it lay piled in his lap like a mound of uncombed wool.

Time travel is a big thing. A big, scary thing that would require a ridiculous amount of energy and would set up the sorts of paradoxes that make your head hurt at night. No, better to avoid messing with the timestream…. The whole mountain range? An individual mountain or two …. Are these going to be relevant in the future? Is that what happened to Lord Barst?

I was wondering how you feel about Sloan. Do you think this is something that he is capable of? And if he is able to change his true name, do you think there would be trouble between Eragon and Katrina because of what the former did? Yes I believe that Sloan will change.

The mystery of Angela still stands. Anyway, why did you not include her real identity in Inheritance? Could it be because her story is not something that could be explained in a chapter or did you not find a good place to tell it in? However, be forewarned, whenever I answer one question with her, I strive to raise two more. Concerning the scene when Eragon and Angela were escaping from the cathedral in Dras-Leona and Eragon was using Tinkledeath.

Do you care to share on how Tinkledeath got its qualities? Built with magic and craftsmanship. I wrote a scene in Eldest, when Eragon and Saphira return to the Varden, where they stopped at the mountains. However, it messed up the pacing, so I cut it during editing.

Lots of little tweaks to various descriptions. And I would add one paragraph and two lines to Inheritance. Or does it have some deeper meaning to you? I was wondering why solembum can change his eye colour. I was wondering why werecats can change to change their eyes, and if they can change that, is it possible for them to become anything they want? Could they change into another form besides human? I think it would depend on whether or not they wanted to do so.

I was also curious about a dream that there are gone has in Brisingr. I have two questions about this dream. Also I was wondering if this was meant as anything extra because at this point he did everyone did not know about the heart of hearts so was this intentionally foreshadowing or was this just a simple mistake.

I was also very curious as to what was the most changed thing there is in the series. The comment about the hearts was foreshadowing. Eragon was picking up on events of long ago. Just another wobble in the flow of time and energy. Does that apply to all dragons or just Thorn? Would you ever write a book with him as either the narrator or one of the narrators?

And I also saw that you mentioned a Book 5 on Twitter, would that be a fifth book in the Inheritance cycle or did you just mean a fifth book in the Alagaesian world in general? There will be no more books in the Inheritance cycle. There will be new characters and old characters and a new storyline. That would spoil it. I thought the Eragon series only contains four books, why is there suddenly a fifth book? The thing is, even though the cycle is over, the lives of the characters keep going, and that will be true of any book I write.

However, they may not all continue the same storyline that I began in the Inheritance cycle, although we will certainly see some of the same characters. Have you considered writing a book in which Murtagh tells his story after the last battle? Yes, I have considered writing a book about Murtagh.

Murtagh is my favourite character, and I love him with Nasuada. It broke my heart when he left her after the battle to go roam the land. Do you think he would ever return to her? I was wondering whether or not you will continue the book and finish what many of us want to know? Such as Arya and Eragon, Murtagh, Thorn, the new empire, Nasuada, the new riders, the dragons, and where Eragon and Saphira continue their journey together.

You said you will write other books in other time periods in Alagaesia. Will we see what happens to Eragon and Arya there or more on how Galbatorix got to power?

I think you mentioned something about a book with Brom as a main character? It would spoil the story to tell you know. Is the story between Eragon and the Menoa Tree done? I love that tree. Great question! No comment…. In your next book, can you please write in a crush for Eragon? Are you going to right any books about what happens when eragon sails away to raise the dragons?

Is it easier for young ones or mid-age or old ones to regain their sanity? Do they play a part in the future? Again, see Book V. Was the blind beggar that got her fortune told someone of real unkown importance? Has there ever been a rainbow-colored dragon besides the Spectral Dragon? When Galbatorix was giving the history of the hall of the soothesayer, he said it was a woman who was neither elf nor dwarf but had lived there for hundreds of years.

So I was wondering if it was Angela. Was it? Was the soothsayer Angela? Great question. I really, really want to hear about the two women that she rolled the bones for, who showed up in the final battle.

I wonder if, one day in the far future, a story about them will be forthcoming. Yup, the two women are the stars of another story.

Not Book V, however. Just gotta get around to writing it someday. In your next book in this series do you plan on having it take place soon after all these events take place so that humans such as Roran and Katrina are still alive or will it take place a couple hundred years in the future? Like converting matter to energy? Is that what Angela did with the soldiers under Dras Leona? Read what she said again. The explanation is there.

What were the Seven Words that Brom told Eragon? Once again this is one of the greater mysteries of the series and it was rumored we were supposed to find out in Inheritance. If you could think about it, it is quite possible and awesome to write a book, about how the dragons feel, or perhaps, write about how they felt during the Skulblaka war, and the fight against Galbatorix….

It was enormous fun. Not sure what it would be about, but I think it would make for an enjoyable read. Or will you continue with Eragon? I may go back and write about Brom. The only problem with that, however, is that everyone would know how his story ends. What were the hooded figures in Vroengard that he sees? I kept waiting for more but was a little disappointed. Is it possible book 5 will be here by the end of next year or at the beggining of ?

We met him after the Battle of the Burning Plains…. I think it was in Brsingir? Does he ever have anymore in stories or have his own story afterwards? Maybe, maybe not. You say that the story between Arya and Eragon is far from over and they are still so young, but please can you continue to cover it and not just leave it to our frail imaginations!? You are the brilliance that made the relationship what it is and we need you to continue it!!!

It really is just a question of time — time to do the other things I want and time to write. In your follow-up book in the series do you plan on having Eragon cycle around as a main character similar to Roran and Nasuada in the previous books or will his p. Check out this interview to find out more: shurtugal. Who is your favorite character?

Saphira, followed by Angela and Elva. What is your favorite word in the ancient language? Time it by the pregnancies.
