Why is tekken 6 so bad

Some of the combos you can do in TTT2 and TR are either absent or difficult to perform due to strict timing. Some of the attacks for my characters anyway are either useless or aren't good. Sure enough, the times I DID play in the story mode felt like a horrible tacked on mini game that led to infuriating instances of not being able to see my own character in a sea of bad guys with one of the worst 3d roaming and lock-on mechanics ever made for a set of controls that were honestly meant for 1 on 1 fighting. Their choice to use high quality CGI graphics, then thrust you into more events with in game graphics that you can't control that could have easily been rendered in CGI as well was horrible.

It simply shows off the horrible graphics for minutes before you get to play anything. Basically, you're disappointed before you even get to play! And I'm not being harsh here. After playing this, and the arcade mode, I booted up Virtua Fighter 5. You know.. Yea, my jaw was on the floor watching it after having played Tekken 6. Virtua Fighter 5 had realistic hair and fur on clothing. The best Tekken 6 has is a horrible texture for fur that has a semi-transparent texture on top to give the illusion of having depth from really far away, and making it look like crap up close.

I think I last saw this graphical trick back on the PS2! How amazing! So the characters aren't the best you say, who cares.. Flat textures, bad flat lighting and virtually no bump mapping makes this look like a high resolution game ported from the last generation of consoles. Again, Virtua Fighter 5 might not be the most realistic look in the world, but it's STILL a technical achievement 2 years from it's release. I'm sorry if I sound harsh, but last I checked fighting games, like most arcade racers, have little depth.

The only thing that has ever made these games interesting besides playing with a friend was the state of the art graphics that you could show off to your friends and watch as you both drooled at it's prettiness.

Remember when Soul Calibur came out? Remember when Dead or Alive on the Xbox came out? Heck, remember when the first Tekken and Virtua Fighters came out? They were all revolutionary for their time. Without that you have something that really doesn't hold a candle to the competition.

Sure the fighting mechanics are different, but if I'm disgusted by what I'm seeing around me, by the long load times, and a story mode that can put me to sleep in an hour, who cares? Did anyone actually like this? Did anyone else realize what I did.. So if it's any consolation, you are not alone on this. I never liked Tekken, so I just ignored it. I have to wonder what game you were playing, because it certainly wasn't the Tekken 6 for the PS3 or I played.

Loading times on the PS3 are horrible, but after installing they're bearable. Meanwhile, the controller on the is the problem with that port. Beyond that, I feel the game was underscored. I enjoy the JRPG style story. I enjoy the beat 'em up nature of Story Mode. I enjoy the pick up and play nature of the ghost battles.

I enjoy the costume customization. I enjoy the huge character roster. It's definitely an A list game in my book. Heck, I liked it! I enjoy Tekken. Frankly, I've never done the story mode and probably never will. When this game is loaded, it's all about just doing the work to make all playable characters available, then it's a "king of Tekken" night! This is one game the kids, me, Mrs Potatohead, and our extended family will play. DR the AI scales much better.

Tekken 6 arcade mode is crappy compared to the story mode from DR and there is no mode like the "arcade" mode from DR.

What's with the cheezy boss battles? A pink dragon? What does a pink dragon have to do with Tekken. At least in DR at the end of the story mode you battled a boss that fit with the whole tekken story. The scenario campaign is kind of crappy too. Bad camera angles mostly. Graphics are nice, although I was expecting better in regards to the arenas. I'll play it, but I wouldn't buy it again if I had the choice.

Sure it's a blast online but at least there's a good single player game included. After all it too is just a fighting game albeit one with weapons instead of fists and feet.
